In my leisure time - if I have any - I like to venture around with my camera and take pictures. It's like switching into visual discovery mode ('VD mode'), observing and displaying at the same time. If you keep your eyes open and merge with a place or situation, there are plenty of pictures all around. There is a story to tell at almost every corner.

My interests in photography came to life when I bought my first camera, a Canon EOS 650, in 1990. After a few years of autodidactic trial and error, I decided in 1995 to follow a class at Michigan State University held by Danny Guthrie, Associate Professor for photography at the Kresge Art Centre. My work shows impressions mainly gathered during travel thru Europe and North America. It includes street photography, portraits, landscapes, sailing, architectural compositions and a few abstracts. In 1997 and 1998 I covered the rehearsals and preparations for the musical Ligo Ap'ola, a pedagogical project for youth.
